Circle Suppers

In order to help create community at HUUC, members and friends of the congregation form “Circle Supper” groups each winter, dining at one another’s homes on a rotating basis in small groups of 6-8 adults. Groups may be divided by eating preference (e.g., vegetarian), family type (e.g., singles, retirees, or families with small children), or a mixture of different interests and tastes. Circle Suppers run January through May, once a month, as scheduled by group members themselves; each household hosts one month, then visits elsewhere the other months. Watch for signups in late fall and join a Circle Supper group in 2010!

Potluck

Monthly Sunday Potluck Meal

On the third Sunday of each month at noon, we share in a potluck lunch following the worship service. These are comfortable, informal occasions where all are welcome.  Bring a dish to share, and meet some new friends!

Family Activities

A goal of the Children’s RE Committee is to provide a sense of community for our children.  Two groups have been formed to provide activities for families outside of regular church service hours:

· Family Fun Group has activities geared toward children 6 years of age and under

· Family Explorers Group has activities geared toward children 6 -13 years old.

Monthly events alternate between Family Fun Nights and the Family Explorers Group.  We also hold an annual event for all families, such as a camping trip.

Although activities are planned for the age range listed, all ages are welcome, including those congregants without children.  We hope that you will join us for our next event!   View upcoming events.

Wonderful Wednesday

Held the first Wednesday evening of each month (except July), the Heritage community comes together for an evening affectionately known as “Wonderful Wednesday.” We begin with a potluck dinner at 6:45, followed by programming for adults at 7:30. Childcare is always provided for the youngest among us, and older children and teens often have their own programs, or participate in intergenerational activities such as folk dancing.  Many adult religious education classes, discussion groups, and game groups schedule their meetings on these Wednesday evenings. In addition, there might be committee meetings, movie screenings, or labyrinth walks. Check the church calendar for the latest on programming for this and other evenings throughout the month.
