Music is an important part of worship at Heritage. We sing together every Sunday, and music from our choir, accompanists, and other members of the congregation helps shape the service throughout the year.

The Heritage Choir

From September through May, and sometimes into early June, the Heritage Choir is part of worship a couple of Sundays each month, usually offering two choral pieces during the service.

The choir sings a wide variety of music and is open to anyone who enjoys singing. Rehearsals are held Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m., with an additional rehearsal on Sunday morning before worship.

Steve McCamley directs the choir. Sherry McCamley, our Music Director, accompanies the choir, leads congregational music, and offers special music throughout the year.

Want to sing without making a weekly commitment?

On one additional Sunday each month during the church year, singers are invited to gather at 9:00 a.m., learn a piece together, and sing it in that morning’s service.

No ongoing choir commitment is required. Just come ready to sing.

Music Throughout the Congregation

We usually sing one or two hymns together each Sunday, drawing from a wide range of musical styles.

Members of the congregation — adults and youth — also share their musical gifts in worship, whether through voice, piano, other instruments, or special performances.

One More Song Before We Go

At Heritage, the postlude doesn’t always mean everyone heads for the door.

After the service, Sherry moves to the grand piano and plays a familiar song chosen for that Sunday. Many people gather around the piano to sing together before leaving.

It has become one of the distinctive ways we end worship: one more song, shared together.
