Community at Heritage happens in many ways. Some groups meet regularly. Others gather for a season, around a shared interest, or for a particular stage of life.
Some are open to everyone. Others are created for people who share a particular identity or experience.
Small participant-faciltator led groups of adults gather deep personal reflection and deep listening. Group members commit to participate for the duration of the program.
Groups form periodically and may have different themes or intended participants. This fall, three new groups are forming. One will be in person, one on Zoom, and one for queer young adults.
Learn About Spiritual Exploration Groups
Heritage has a long tradition of gatherings created for women, offering friendship, conversation, support, music, and opportunities to deepen relationships.
The Clara Barton Guild has been part of Heritage since 1917 and serves as an umbrella for many of the congregation’s women’s activities.
Over the years, the Guild has supported church projects, community organizations, special programs, and opportunities for women to gather in friendship and service.
All women of the congregation are considered part of the Clara Barton Guild and are welcome to participate in its activities.
The Heritage Women’s Book Club gathers monthly for conversation around a selected book — though the conversation often goes well beyond the book itself.
The group is informal, supportive, and welcoming to newcomers. Reading the entire book is never a requirement for joining the conversation.
Sing Out Sisters gathers in a circle of song to create sacred space together.
The group sings simple songs and chants exploring themes such as the Divine Feminine, cycles of nature and life, community, healing, and women’s experience. No musical experience is necessary, and music is learned together through listening and repetition.
Open to all who identify as women.
Healthy Lifestyles is a gentle support group for women seeking encouragement in making choices that support physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual well-being.
The group meets over brown-bag lunches and shares challenges, successes, and encouragement. There are no scales, no fees, and no expectation that health means any one particular goal.
All women are welcome.
Heritage also holds an annual Women’s Retreat, a long-standing tradition of connection, reflection, laughter, and time together.
Heritage’s Pagan Group gathers around earth-centered spirituality, seasonal observances, and contemporary Pagan practice.
The group celebrates the turning of the seasons, including solstices, equinoxes, and other traditional Pagan holy days, and occasionally helps shape worship for the wider congregation.
All who are interested in Pagan and earth-centered spirituality are welcome.
A monthly gathering for people interested in playing Native American style flute, drums, or rattles.
All experience levels are welcome, and a few instruments are available to borrow.
Love to sing but can’t commit to regular choir rehearsals?
About once a month during the church year, singers gather on Sunday morning to learn a piece together and perform it during that day’s worship service.
All ages and experience levels are welcome.
Some gatherings are created with families in mind while remaining open to the wider congregation.
These include Family Game Nights, Sunday Socials, Parents’ Night Out, Monthly Potlucks (on the second Sunday), and other opportunities for people of different ages to spend time together.

Some groups connect around shared commitments rather than primarily social activity.
The Social Justice Collaborative provides a place for people engaged in justice work to share what they are doing, support one another, and connect around common concerns.
The Democracy Action Team gathers to plan and participate in civic action.
New groups and short-term gatherings emerge throughout the year — meditation and mindfulness programs, workshops, seasonal gatherings, special projects, and other opportunities to connect.
