Helping children grow into their own values and beliefs.

At Heritage, faith development is not about giving children a fixed set of answers. It is about helping them ask good questions, explore ideas, develop their own values, and learn how to live with compassion, courage, curiosity, and care.

Children are encouraged to learn from Unitarian Universalist traditions, other religions, stories, science, justice work, relationships, and their own lived experience.

What We Explore

Our children’s faith-development programs may include:

  • Unitarian Universalist values and traditions
  • world religions and different ways people make meaning
  • justice, fairness, and care for others
  • relationships, identity, and growing up
  • stories, creativity, and spiritual practices
  • nature, wonder, and our connection to the wider world
  • age-appropriate opportunities to reflect on life’s big questions

Learning Across the Years

As children grow, the questions change — and so do the ways we explore them. Our programs are designed to be developmentally appropriate and to help children and youth build understanding, confidence, and a sense of belonging over time.

Our Whole Lives

Heritage also offers Our Whole Lives (OWL), a comprehensive, age-appropriate sexuality education program that helps children and youth develop healthy relationships, accurate knowledge, and values grounded in respect, responsibility, and care.

We will be offering Kindergarten and First Grade OWL this year, in collaboration with other Cincinnati UU Churches.
