What Sundays are like for children and families

Children are welcome in worship at Heritage. On many Sundays, children begin the morning in the sanctuary with the whole congregation and then leave for age-appropriate faith development activities.

On some Sundays, children and youth remain in worship for the full service, especially for multigenerational services and special celebrations.

When You Arrive

If you are visiting for the first time, come a few minutes early and let one of our greeters know you have children with you. We’ll help you find the right place and introduce you to the people leading that morning’s programming.

You do not need to know the routine in advance.

What Children Can Expect

A typical Sunday may include:

  • stories and conversation;
  • activities and creative projects;
  • learning about Unitarian Universalist values and traditions;
  • exploring other religions and ways of understanding the world;
  • age-appropriate conversations about justice, kindness, relationships, and community;
  • time to build friendships and have fun.

This Month for Children & Youth

In October, our kids explore the theme "Living the Questions."
